Are you relying on coffee, drugs, alcohol or cigarettes to get through life?

Lots of people are reaching for these things out of a reactionary habit. What if your relationship with these things naturally started to change as your nervous system started to become more regulated?

It’s what I’ve seen time and time again with clients, and I’d love that to be your experience too.

The legal profession is built on the ability to th The legal profession is built on the ability to think clearly. Yet the conditions required for clear thinking are rarely discussed.

Lawyers are trained to analyse, anticipate, question and solve complex problems. These are essential skills. But the quality of those skills depends on something less often examined: the state of the mind doing the work.

After practising law, I understand the reality of a profession where the to-do list is rarely finished. There is always another issue to consider. Another risk to assess. Another client who needs your attention.

That level of responsibility is part of what makes legal practice meaningful.

But sustained performance requires more than endurance. It requires the ability to recover. To maintain perspective. To access clarity when the pressure is high.

This is why I became interested in working with people in high-performance roles, including lawyers, business leaders, executives and athletes, to cultivate the inner stability that supports clarity, sound judgement and resilience under pressure.

And after 14 years of doing so, I know the most effective professionals are not those who are constantly switched on. They are those who know when, and how, to reset their attention.

It’s the same principle I see across high-performance environments: endurance alone is not enough. Sustainable performance comes from balancing effort with recovery, so clarity, judgement and resilience are available when they matter most.

That is a skill worth developing.

The weekend is coming up and this can be a really good time to take the time to set out some intentions and and habits for the week ahead.

It’s been wonderful to feel called to pop in live here each day and see the ripple lit effect.

Love you all.

Happy Friday!

Back in my old hood in the city today with lawyers Back in my old hood in the city today with lawyers, sharing my CPD professional development programs for lawyers.

I had a little smile and laugh to myself when this bus went past as I was filming. This was the bus I was going to catch the night I was hit by a car on a pedestrian crossing as I left work.

I was hit by a taxi, so after that I was terrified on taxis. And also of riding in cars. But no one could out together why I was terrified of buses too. I eventually made the connection myself once I was meditating.

My first bus rides back into the city after that accident I’d meditate the entire trip just to be able to get through it. Which I did.

And daily meditation allowed that entire trigger to be processed out of me.

It such a lovely feeling to be back in the city, in the spots where it all took place and around all of those triggers, and not only not feel triggered, but feel joyful. And want to be there. My body used to scream at me to get the hell out of there asap!

The number one question I get asked, and was asked today, is how did I go from being a lawyer to what I do now. Every lawyer knows there’s a story! They’re just not quite expecting that story! 🫶🏻

So happy for you @veetkaren 🫶🏻 The other day I po So happy for you @veetkaren 🫶🏻

The other day I popped on live and was talking about meditating every morning to set the foundation for our day ahead, and life ahead.

I never pop on live, let alone everyday, but was feeling a calling to do so.

Beautiful Byron Bay nutritionist and vegan cooking course facilitator Veet saw the live and popped on. She’d been having a really hard time. Going through some ready hard things and feeling all that comes with that. She’d been getting nudges to get back into her meditation, having drifted in and out. And then I showed up on her feed talking about meditating every day! ✨

She the.decided to set herself the challenge of meditating for 30 days.

I then put that challenge out into our community and have been popping on live each day to support and connect with everyone.

Being human means feeling the full range of emotions.

Sometimes that means feeling really sad, and allowing ourself to feel that and process that and use our meditation to help us to do so. Allowing ourselves to do so is going to allow more love and more living 🙌🏻

So happy for Veet that she’s embraced her practice and within 7 days of daily meditating she’s having a different experience of life.

It’s the whole reason I’ve been popping on everyday 👏🏻
